A day in the life of… Tom Crane

Back to Blog

With a schedule like mine which usually consists of 6 days a week DJ’ing and sometimes 2 or even 3 gigs a day you have to make your precious 1 day off a week just right, so here’s my perfect day off in Ibiza.

B9OfDcEIMAAVXdWWhat will probably surprise most of you is I’m a really early riser usually around 6.30am and I start my day with a run along Talamanca beach for the sunrise when the beach is empty. There really isn’t a better way to start your day then running with the sun coming up alongside you.

I’m a resident of Marina Botafoch so after my run on my way home I stop at Passion Cafe for breakfast which normally consists of green eggs and ham with a large super detox juice and of course a nice hot ‘cortado’ coffee.

After a little freshen up and my standard cleaning of my apartment (it clears the head) I head off to Ibiza New Market where you can get everything fresh, from fish and meat to tea’s, fruit and veg, it’s got loads going on and a wicked atmosphere. I buy all my meat and fish for the week here and most important my Chai tea. My good friend DJ Andy Baxter got me addicted to it a couple of years ago and now I can’t live without it.

Well DJ’ing under shade all day also means we don’t always have the best tans even though I live in Ibiza all year round, so the next step on my perfect day off…….. THE BEACH!!!

Ibiza is full of gorgeous beaches and for me one of the best is Salinas, it’s very busy but has lots to look at as I find just lying in the sand boring as ****. If you continue past Sa Trinxa there are loads of coves where you will find only a few people dotted about so a nice place to go to chill but you are still able to hear the buzz and music. I’m not giving away any secret places and exactly where i go, i’ll keep that to myself and you can find your own spots. After few hours of sun I get back into Peggy my trusty beast Jeep Wrangler and off I head for lunch. I love Sa Caleta for a Paella and fresh seafood, its not the cheapest but seeing as I only have 1 day off a week I like to treat myself. After some good food and a couple of beers with mates we then head straight down onto the beach for another sneaky hour of sun.

In the afternoon (depending on what day I’m off) i’ll either pop into global radio to do my Ibiza Style radio show or a few hours in the studio making beats or finishing tracks off.

After a busy day and lots of sun I like to drive up to Es Vedra for sunset, it’s a bit of an obvious choice but once you’re there with friends watching sunset it really is lovely way to spend the evening. Or closer to home is upstairs at O Beach, the Sunset Roof Garden also has great view of the famous Ibiza Sunset before going home to get ready for a night out.

Next we head for some pre-dinner drinks at Sushi Point or maybe BFOR for a fish bowl size Hendricks G&T with cucumber followed with dinner in San Rafael at either Can Pilot for an amazing BBQ or Es Tanco for the best Aubergine ParmiNMxYBmTGkJYDSdFbrCXATmtzM_H4RHR0sD-dBwjEJU0giana i’ve ever had! Seeing as its just around the corner, we’ll pop into AMNESIA for MUSIC ON on the way home, which is always guaranteed to be a great night!

This ends my perfect day off here on the White Isle and is just enough mayhem to keep me going for another week!
