Three things you should do to get in shape for Ibiza

Fitness Nutrition

By Rianna Clark, January 23, 2015

It is the time of the year that you start thinking about your holiday to Ibiza. You start dreaming of the beaches and dancing the night away at O Beach. The reality is that you need to look your best in summer. In this post we share 3 things to kick-start your training regime… Ready, set, go!

#1. Stop taking sugar

fitness2Cut out all sugars. Trust me, your body will be grateful. Take out all processed foods. Eat clean, every single colour vegetable and keep this one simple rule in mind, include protein in every meal and exercise at least 3 times a week.

#2. Drink, drink and drink some more

Drink plenty of water. My tip for people who find it hard to drink water in the morning, add a slice of lemon or orange to the water. It gives it a nicer taste and it has multiple health benefits, which I will not bore you with, there are plenty of great articles out there that explain this in detail.

#3. Exercise at least 3 times a week

You have to work hard to get the body and mind of your dreams. And yes, pain is temporary. You will have some on your journey to the new YOU, but the glory outweighs the sweat and tears. Make sure you find a great coach to guide you on your fitness quest. But until you find this coach you can start by doing this little program to build your basic strength and condition at home.

#4. The Program

Push up – Squat – Plank. To get you up to speed quickly we love to work with ladders. That means we only climb up in the beginning. The program goes like this:

5 push ups
5 squats
30 sec plank

7 push ups
7 squats
30 sec plank

9 push ups
9 squats
30 sec plank

11 push ups
11 squats
30 sec plank

#5. No rest in between the exercises and in between sets you take a 15 second count rest. Repeat this 3 x.

You can play with the numbers and adjust them to your own fitness level but the above is just to give you an idea. Now go and perform this routine daily and build a solid foundation for your resistance training in the gym or outdoors. If you have any questions feel free to email us directly!
