The fruitiest pool party returns!

Last year saw the hottest, new UK daytime party, HotBed join the O Beach family for their 12-week residency… and wow what a residency it was!

Following the success of their debut summer, it was only right to the world (well Ibiza at least) that they returned to their home away from home for yet another summer! But what exactly have they been up to since they packed up their decks, instruments and watermelon inflatables and headed back to the UK? And more importantly, what have they got planned up their sleeves for us in 2018? Well lets’s hear it, from HotBed Co-Founder, Kai Cant!

Tell us about your first residency at O Beach Ibiza this summer?

Hi Guys! Summer 2017 for HotBed in Ibiza was incredible! We only launched the event in London in December 2016, so when we was asked to take up a residency at Ocean beach in 2017, it was like a dream come true! I believe we brought something new and fresh to Wednesdays in Ibiza. O Beach is the perfect home for some vocal Balearic beats and live performances. The live instrumentalists always help to build the momentum throughout the day and provide the perfect soundtrack for a Wednesday in the sunshine.

What was your favourite moment of Ibiza 2017?

Favourite moment/memory, was definitely week 11 in August, when we had a huge amount of rainfall which led to a power cut, the sound completely cut out, the only thing that seemed to work was the microphone! The show must go on – so, Tony Truman jumped on the mic and got everyone on the dance floor. People were loving life and dancing to our Sax and bongo players who kept the party going for an extra hour in the torrential rain. For us Ibiza always shouts sunshine – but that’s not what it’s about. It’s about people coming together for a mutual love of music – so this really did epitomise the party.

Since the closing party on 21st September, what has Hotbed/Abode been up to?

As soon as we got back from Ibiza it was straight to ABODE In The Park to host the VIP arena, the energy was incredible all day. This was truly incredible and great to be part of ABODE history.

We’ve also recently launched a HotBed Brunch series – for us it’s the perfect day. Arrive sober with a group of friends – have some nice food – let the drinks flow – watch our live entertainers and musicians and then gradually the party really gets going.

We’ve enjoyed our HotBed brunch series at its’ new home McQueen in Shoreditch so much that we’ve locked in a full calendar of brunch events and will be launching the other venues soon…More info coming soon on this!

What can we expect to see from Hotbed in Ibiza 2018? Will you have new dj’s and percussionists joining?

We will be returning to our Ibiza home (Ocean beach) for summer 2018 with our residents from 2017 plus a new female artist who will be playing various dates across the summer. We are launching a brand new 4 piece act made up of Sax , trumpet , Percussionist and keyboard player which is currently being put together in the studio as we speak. We love the live element of HotBed – it’s great in a venue like Ocean where people want to see a show.
